The Kalmar Sustainability award 2025
Continental recently received the Kalmar Sustainability Award 2025 during Kalmar Supplier Day in Szczecin, Poland in May. The award recognizes Continental’s performance in sustainability stewardship, responsible sourcing and data transparency across its supply chain.
The recognition was the result of Continental achieving the highest score on Kalmar’s sustainability scorecard for independent evaluation covering supplier engagement, sustainability data, hazardous substance management and compliance with codes of conduct.
Christian Berner, global key account manager for port operations at Continental, accepted the award and stated. “We are honoured to receive this award from Kalmar, a valued customer with whom we have enjoyed a strong partnership for over 15 years,
“This valuable recognition is a testament to our shared values including a strong commitment to sustainability and lifecycle responsibility as demonstrated in our yearly sustainability report.”
As Kalmar’s standard premium supplier for V.ply tyres in port logistics, Continental equips reach stackers, container handlers, forklifts, straddle carriers and terminal tractors. The manufacturer also provides radial tyre solutions for container-handling vehicles. With its broad product range, the company provides tailored tire portfolios designed to meet specific operational needs.
Continental’s vision covers the full tire lifecycle, from raw material sourcing to recycling. With the Port Operation Tires Business Field focusing on energy-efficient production, recyclable materials and durable solutions including the Terminal-Master. A design that improves reliability and reduces material waste across the product lifecycle. Plus digital solutions such as ContiConnect which effectively enhances sustainability by reducing under-inflation, extending tire life and improving fuel efficiency.
In addition to this accolade, earlier this year, Continental were named as ‘Tire Manufacturer of the Year’ at the Tire Technology International Awards which recognized its leadership in environmentally responsible tyre production.
The Kalmar Sustainability Award 2025 highlights the shared commitment between Kalmar and Continental towards sustainable operations and reinforces the value of long-term partnerships based on common principles and forward-looking innovation.
