In May, the anniversary edition of the Autopromotec trade fair will take place in Bologna, Italy. Tyre Media (TM) recently chatted with Renzo Servadei, CEO of the event.
Autopromotec 2025 marks the 30th edition of the trade fair, which is presented every other year meaning it has been presented over the past 60 years since 1964. What key changes and innovations are you planning compared to previous editions? Will this event be a special show?

Yes Autopromotec 2025 in May will be a special one, as the acceleration of technological innovation imposed by the Software Defined Vehicles and the application of AI to the design of vehicles and their components have led to an acceleration of innovative processes, which demand to be seen and touched at major events such as Autopromotec.

How is this year's event shaping up in terms of the number of exhibitors and visitors? Can we expect a record-breaking edition?

At the moment, I can only say that I am extremely happy with the exhibitor interest we are receiving. Whilst the Visitors Ticket Office will not open until March. However, we confidentially expect to return to the numbers of the pre-pandemic editions and possibly break the 2019 records. Based on the interest levels recorded, we expect to welcome more than 100,000 visitors and 1,500 exhibitors. I would also like to take this opportunity to say that the pre-catalogue is online and constantly being updated.

What new technologies in the automotive industry will be particularly highlighted at this year’s trade fair?

Traditinally Autopromotec is a comprehensive event covering all sectors of the automotive aftermarket including components and spare parts, tyres and equipment. We have sold out in practically all sectors meaning that all market sectors will be well represented. Of course, as I mentioned earlier, new technologies are the subject of ever-increasing interest and, as a result, the areas of data management and the resulting control software are of extreme importance.

What in-house events, such as conferences or discussion panels, will take place during the fair?

For this edition of Autopromotec we have planned a rich calendar of events, aimed at addressing the most topical issues and challenges of the automotive aftermarket world, including sustainability, AI and data ownership issues. Autopromotec will not only be the stage for several award ceremonies related to the world of tyres and garages, but also for the annual meetings of internationally operating industry associations. From mid-April the complete list will be available on our website.

In connection with the 60th anniversary, are there any special initiatives or attractions planned for attendees?

We cannot reveal much yet because it is a surprise, but yes, there will be initiatives dedicated to this special birthday. The 2025 edition will be an edition that simultaneously celebrates the history of Autopromotec and the future of the automotive aftermarket world, a meeting point between past and future, history and innovation. There will be several themed areas, in addition to the one dedicated to the 60th anniversary, such as the B2B section, the ESG/Sustainability FORUM, the Innovation Village, the Truck area and the Bodyshop Arena.

Why is it worth visiting this latest edition of Autopromotec?

The future of the workshop depends on operators having the technical data, the knowledge to handle them and the equipment to intervene. This is a complex but fascinating challenge, which also involves areas that stimulate great interest in the new generations. In order to orient oneself in this increasingly technological and interconnected world, it is necessary to touch the various proposals that in 150,000 square metres of exhibition space will provide a complete picture

Thank you for your time, Mr Servadei.
