The new all-terrain range from General Tire
The Australian all-terrain tyre market continues to gather momentum with the introduction of General Tire’s latest two new-generation tyres in this highly competitive sector.
General Tire, owned by Continental, recently announced the availability of the General Tire Grabber ATX and Grabber AT3 which have both been specifically designed to operate in both on and off- road applications and conditions.
Whilst the AT3 is a more traditional road-biased all-terrain tyre, with a particular focus on innovative grip in challenging conditions. The ATX range is more suited towards the emerging R/T range of tyres coming onto the Australian market.

These rugged-terrain tyres, appear to be aggressive mud-terrain tyres without sacrificing day-to-day grip on sealed road surfaces, and are increasingly popular with four-wheel-drive owners in Australia.
Both these new Grabber tyre options feature a series of benefits including cut and chip resistance, a quieter and more comfortable ride, increased traction in dirt, snow, and gravel, and specially designed compounds for maximum longevity.
Other equally important features include large sidewall lugs and deflection ribs to help keep stones and debris away from the vehicle's bodywork. The General Tire Grabber ATX is available in 13 sizes from 16 to 20 inches, while the AT3 comes in nine sizes from 16 to 18 inches.
