Giti Introduces New Sizes to GAM838 Range

The Giti GAM838 tyre
Giti Tire has added new sizes 385/65R22.5 and 13R22.5 to its most recent mixed service launch, the Giti GAM838 next generation steer tyre.
Available alongside size 315/80R22.5, which was launched in September 2025, the pattern features the latest compound and tread technologies resulting in enhanced mileage, superior grip characteristics and a reinforced tread area to further protect from tearing, cutting and chunking.
The Giti GAM838 has been designed for milder operating conditions, offering greater ground clearance and improved capability to manage rough terrain and uneven surfaces. The 13R22.5 size is suitable for more demanding environments and is well established in the French, Italian and Spanish markets.
Having undergone in-depth field tests with EU fleets to confirm performance levels, the tyre improves mileage, crack and chipping protection by 15 per cent plus wet braking, rolling resistance and retreadability, important for circularity, have a performance increase of 10 per cent against its predecessor.
Environmentally the GAM838 has improved Rolling Resistance by one level to Grade C, meaning lower fuel consumption. In addition, the new tread compound has reduced high abrasion particle emissions by 20 per cent.
The tyre was launched alongside the Giti GDM687 drive tyre, which carries many of the same features and benefits, with both tyres complementing the popular Giti GAM831 which is designed for more severe usage.
All new Giti truck and bus tyres for Europe carry an RFID chip in the sidewall to make them capable of whole life monitoring.
The Giti GAM838 has been very well received since its launch with many European customers praising its durability on-and-off road while commentating on exceptional comfort, fuel efficiency and safety. Bringing the new sizes to market now will start to meet the high demand we are receiving.In line with many fleet operators’ commitment to the environment the sustainability credentials of the tyre also stand out, with the lower rolling resistance resulting in a drop in fuel consumption alongside reduced particle abrasion and improved retreading. All of these elements can make a massive difference to operators' profit margins.

The project to create the Giti GAM838 and Giti GDM687 was led by Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany.
