The Maxam MS963R RowXtra tyre
Maxam Tire has launched the MS963R RowXtra, a VF radial implement tyre with steel belts aimed at balers, hay mergers, seeders and similar trailed equipment.
The RowXtra’s VF construction allows the tyre to flex further under load and carry up to 40 per cent more load at standard inflation pressures or operate at up to 40 per cent lower pressure while carrying the same load.
Lower pressure at the same load results in a larger footprint, which spreads the weight over a greater area and limits damage to the soil structure. A ribbed tread pattern ensures consistent ground contact and lower rolling resistance.
Maxam has also focused on durability, as implement tyres typically fail due to damage rather than wear. The tyre uses a steel belt structure with flexible sidewalls and a stubble-resistant compound to resist cuts in the fields that punish tyres the most.
Greg Gilland, Vice President of Agriculture at Maxam Tire, states: “As farming equipment continues to evolve for improved productivity, farmers and growers look for VF tire solutions that handle heavier loads while operating at high speeds and minimizing the impact on their fields.”
