Michelin Introduces the XHA3 Construction Tyre

Michelin has unveiled the new Michelin XHA3, a next-generation construction tyre designed to help operators maximise productivity, reduce operating costs and simplify tyre management across a wide range of applications.

The tyre is suitable for loaders, articulated dump trucks (ADTs) and graders and combines durability, versatility and productivity-enhancing technologies, including Michelin Visual Pressure Control, a new patent-pending visual inflation indicator integrated into the tyre sidewall.

This versatility helps simplify fleet management and reduce inventory complexity by limiting the number of tyre specifications required across mixed fleets.”

Combining robustness and versatility, the tyre has been developed for a wide range of construction applications. The tyre offers a multi-machine design covering E3, L3 and G3 applications. The Michelin XHA3 aims to deliver outstanding productivity performance for loaders and ADTs while supporting operational flexibility across construction sites.

Its innovative design and structure provide up to 20 per cent improved wear life compared with the previous generation, whilst also enhancing stability, operator comfort and vibration reduction. The versatile casing architecture supports a high level of retreadability, helping operators maximise tyre value over its service life.

The Michelin XHA3 is the first tyre in the Michelin range to feature Michelin Visual Pressure Control which has been developed in response to customers’ day-to-day operational requirements. The integrated visual indicator is designed to support routine vehicle inspections, where maintaining correct tyre pressures remains essential for safety, productivity and regulatory compliance.

The system provides a simple visual indication of the tyre’s inflation status without the need for electronic sensors, monitoring devices or external equipment. Operators can quickly identify whether a tyre may require pressure adjustment through a straightforward visual check.

Also, its new tread design, featuring increased rubber volume, has been engineered to significantly reduce tyre-related maintenance costs while extending service life. Plus, a reinforced bead area allows the tyre to accommodate the demands of high-torque machinery and delivers up to 20 per cent additional load capacity, depending on tyre size. The new four-block tread pattern and optimised progressive shoulder radius contribute to enhanced traction across multiple vehicle types and applications.

These performance enhancements help support high-productivity machine cycles, reduce unplanned downtime and improve operational continuity on construction sites. Overall, Michelin estimates that the XHA3 can deliver approximately 16 per cent lower TCO compared with its predecessor. As a result, the tyre stands out as a durable, reliable and high-performing solution for construction professionals seeking greater productivity, versatility and long-term value.

The Michelin XHA3 will be introduced to the UK market in several dimensions: 29.5 R25 (October 2026), 23.5 R25 (October 2026), and 26.5 R25 (January 2027).
