The new Nexen Tire warehouse facility in Zatec
Nexen Tire has announced the opening of a new automated warehouse at its European manufacturing plant in Zatec, Czech Republic.
The investment increases storage capacity by around 57 per cent, from 530,000 to 830,000 tyres. Nexen believes the expansion will support growing production volumes, improve logistics efficiency and strengthen local supply capabilities across the region.
Nexen Tire’s European entity states that the added capacity will give it greater flexibility in responding to seasonal demand fluctuations and enable the company to deliver products more reliably and quickly.
The fully automated logistics centre spans 7,104 sq. m., stands 51 metres high and incorporates automated inbound and outbound handling systems as well as RFID-based product tracking. The technology enables end-to-end management from production and storage to shipment while improving accuracy.
Nexen Tire began operations at its European plant in 2019 and launched the warehouse expansion project in October 2024 to support rising output and demand.
A Nexen representative says, “This warehouse expansion does more than just increase storage capacity. It is a strategic investment that will strengthen our integrated production and logistics capabilities. By continuously enhancing the operational capabilities of our European plant, we will improve the trust of customers and further accelerate our growth in the European market.”
