Vipal launches its latest compound technology
Brazilian based Vipal Rubber, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of rubber for tire retreading, has introduced its latest technological advancement to launch its new V® SUPER HYBRID product. This latest innovative compound achieves a mileage performance 140 per cent higher than the fleet’s usual average.
The V Super Hybrid compound has been specially developed to meet the challenges of mixed terrain application and is being introduced as a solution that redefines the standards of mileage performance, resistance and durability of retreaded tyres.
The result of a rigorous process of research and testing in real conditions, this V® SUPER HYBRID technology ensures superior balance between performance on asphalt and on unpaved roads, delivering an excellent ratio between resistance and mileage performance. The innovation was tested in demanding operations, such as logging, grain and livestock transportation, proving its effectiveness in different types of operations and terrain.
The V® SUPER HYBRID also guarantees greater resistance to chipping and punctures, casing-protection, which increases the tyre’s retreadability and service life. Plus, reduced environmental impacts with greater use of treads and operational cost savings for fleets.
In one of the field tests, conducted with a high torque 6x4 truck on steep, unpaved terrain, tyres equipped with V® SUPER HYBRID technology treads, compared to a standard market compound, revealed an 11.5 per cent increase in mileage performance and resisted wear with integrity, without signs of breakage or chipping.
Once the first part of the test was completed, only treads with the new technology reported an increase of up to 140 per cent in mileage, compared to conventional compounds, considering the fleet average in testing. The regularity of wear and the tread resistance allowed better use of the remaining tyre depth, which previously went out of operation at 12 mm and reduced by between 5 and 6 mm with the new compound.

In another experiment, conducted with an 8x2 truck transporting grain and livestock, the performance gain was also excellent: 12.5 per cent in both designs tested (VT830 and VZY2).
